The bills being developed by the DPR People’s Council are notionally consistent with the legislation of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the People’s Council, Vladimir Bidyovka, stated in an interview with the Donetsk News Agency.

The main objective of the DPR’s People’s Council in 2020 will be the codification of Republican legislation, which regulates key areas of society. This was stated by the Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.

During the autumn session, the People’s Council exceeded the work plan by 14%, having adopted six more bills than was planned, DPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Bidyovka informed during the press scrum.

On December 29, in the capital of the Republic, a delegation from the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) met with DPR residents who fall under preferential categories to deliver aid. The delegation included Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of the Sakha Republic Viktor Gubarev and Chairman of the Union of Slavic Communities of Yakutia Alexey Chertkov. The event was attended by Vladimir Bidyovka, the Chairman of the DPR People's Council.

Many residents of Donbass stood up to defend their land in 2014. A number of defenders of the DPR have been unable to obtain the status of a war veteran so far, as this mechanism has not been working properly. With the adoption of amendments to a Law of the DPR “On social protection of war veterans”, this injustice is eliminated.

In a conversation with the press, the Chairman of the DRP’s People’s Council clarified a situation concerning the legitimacy of the Provisional Commission of the DPR’s People’s Council regarding the verification of the legitimacy of refusal to give state accreditation to a state educational institution of higher vocational education “Donbass Law Academy”, in which representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science had previously doubted.

On December 27, a festive occasion dedicated to Emergency Rescuer's Day took place in the capital's Centre for Slavic Culture. DPR Head Denis Pushilin, DPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Bidyovka, delegations from the Russian Federation, the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, representatives of relevant ministries and departments attended it.

On December 26, during the "Direct line", DPR Head Denis Pushilin tasked the People’s Council with solving the problem of compensatory payments to donors during blood donation.

On December 25, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Nikolai Kolomeitsev and Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region Evgeniy Bessonov paid a working visit to the Donetsk People’s Republic.
