In the context of the forthcoming start of the academic year, the Contact Group agreed and supported a stable and comprehensive truce on the contact line of the parties in the Donbass starting from 00 hours 01 minutes on August 29, 2018.

Representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic at the upcoming meeting of the Contact Group in Minsk intend to initiate the introduction of a "school truce" in the Donbass on the eve of the new academic year. This was announced today, on August 21, by the Chairman of the DPR People's Council, the Permanent Representative of the DPR to the talks of the Contact Group in Minsk, Denis Pushilin, RIA Novosti reports.

Currently, the government and the Head of the Republic Alexander Zakharchenko pay close attention to the involvement of large number of citizens in sports. This was stated by the DPR People’s Council’s deputy, the Chairman of the People’s Council’s Committee on Youth, Physical Education, Sport and Tourism Yuri Sivokonenko in a programme “Republic’s in touch” on a radio station “Comet”.

Earlier, the press centre of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported on the enhancing of security measures on the state border, the contact line with the Donbass and the "administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimea" during the celebration of the National Flag Day and the 27th anniversary of Independence Day.

The Ukrainian press continues to be saturated with reports of armed attacks, arms trafficking and even weapon and explosive stashes. The latest news on the subject is an armed attack near a city hall in Kharkov and illegal weapon stash in Odessa, the owner of which was selling ammunition and weapons through the Internet.

The shelling of Staromikhaylovka, which is located near the line of contact, when the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross came to provide assistance to civilian population there, is another cynical provocation of Ukrainian forces.

Of course, this proposal is dictated exclusively by a passionate love for the motherland. It is for sure that this ardent love for Ukraine forces the official to educate his children in the US, and his wife to trade with Russia.

In Ukraine, an increase in the number of firearms owned by citizens of the country was noted. According to the Department of the National Police of Ukraine, at the moment there are about 900 thousand weapons on hand. An impressive figure, but we are talking only about registered units. And if you consider how many weapons were imported from abroad as a result of illegal trafficking, this figure will be twice as much as official figures.

On 12 August, a concert with the participation of Russian musicians dedicated to the Day of the DPR Builder took place in the Central Scherbakov Park of Culture and Leisure in Donetsk with the support of the Russian Centre. The event was attended by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council and the Head of the Russian Centre Denis Pushilin.
