On November 2, a solemn ceremony to commemorate the third anniversary of the establishment of the Parliament of the Donetsk People's Republic was held in accordance with the agenda of plenary meeting.

Ukraine's Internal Affairs Ministry reacted non-standard to the arrest by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) of the son of the minister of the law enforcement agency, Alexander Avakov. In an official statement, the police department accused the NABU leadership of the continuation of the "hybrid war" and the attempt to "restore the old corrupt system."

The Director of the Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Ella Libanova told the press that the return of Donbass would have an enormous economic price.

Chairman of the People's Council, DPR Permanent Envoy to the talks of the Contact Group in Minsk, Denis Pushilin, commented on the results of the last meeting in Minsk in the "Main for the Week" TV programme on the "Oplot TV" TV channel.

Mr. Volker probably did not have time to get acquainted with the originals of the Minsk agreements. Otherwise, it is impossible to explain his statement that these agreements are made only between Russia, the OSCE and Ukraine, without the participation of the DPR and LPR. On that basis, he concluded that there was no need to discuss the draft resolutions and the mandate of the United Nations forces with the Donbass people.

Chairman of the People's Council, DPR Permanent Representative to the talks of the Contact Group in Minsk Denis Pushilin commented on the results of the poll conducted by the Levada Center. The questions asked by the Russians concerned their attitude to Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR.

The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander Danilyuk had recently said that the country was awaiting another tranche from the International Monetary Fund until the end of 2017. The Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman echoed claiming that the next tranche of financial assistance for Ukraine from the IMF of $1.9 billion would be postponed until the end of the year 2017.

On October 28, 2017, the People's Council held a roundtable on "Legislative Norms and Practices of Collecting Taxes and Fees in the DPR."

On October 27, a regular meeting of the Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass was held in Minsk. The agenda included the exchange of prisoners, the observance of cease-fire, in particular, around critical civilian infrastructure as well as the withdrawal of proscribed weapons and the separation of forces and means.

Ukraine is hosting a concert tour of the US Air Force Orchestra with a significant slogan "Music unites". It would be possible to pass by this seemingly peaceful programme, if not the sum of military assistance for the 'independent' voiced by the American ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, at about the same time.
