On September 7, the meeting of the contact group on the conflict settlement in Donbass was held in Minsk. The agenda included issues compliance with “silence mode”, exchange of prisoners and coordination of an instrument of parties' disengaging.

On September 7, 2016, in the territory of the memorial complex “Saur Mogila” (Saur-Tomb) in Shakhtyorskiy district of the Donetsk People's Republic a rally-requiem dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of Donbass liberation from fascist invaders in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 has been held.

On September 6, 2016, on the square of Fame in Yasinovataya a rally in honour of the Day of Donbass Liberation from fascist invaders was carried out.

Ukraine continues to do its best not to fulfill their obligations under the “Minsk-2” on the issue of granting Special Status to Donbass. Neither in 2015 nor in 2016 the Minsk agreements have not been fulfilled and, most likely, they will be extended for the next year.

On September 5, 2016, the round table took place in the conference hall of Russian News Agency TASS, dedicated to the results of Minsk agreements’ implementation in two years from the moment of signing the first documentation package and the prognosis for the next period.

Exactly two years ago, on September 5, 2014, in the capital of Belarus at a meeting of the contact group on conflict resolution in Donbass a protocol on the immediate ceasefire (18:00 of the same day) was signed and  a peace plan of 12 paragraphs was adopted.
