On January 23, the capital's Centre for Slavic Culture, with the support of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, hosted the final of the republican contest “Person of the Year 2019”. A statement made by the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Sergey Krivonos on Kiev’s readiness to take Donbass back by force demonstrates that the peaceful settlement of the conflict is a low priority concern for Ukraine. This was stated by the Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka in his commentary to RIA Novosti.

MP of the DPR People’s Council Vladislav Berdichevsky, in a commentary for the Federal News Agency, battered a statement of the Special Representative of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine, Martin Sajdik, about the possibility of freezing the conflict in Donbass according to the Transnistrian scenario.

The Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka said in an interview to RIA Novosti that the residents of Donbass would love to see the region to become a full-fledged subject of the Russian Federation, but this was hampered by a difficult international situation.
