During the telephone conversations, which took place on August 22, 2017, the leaders of the Normandy Four endorsed the idea of a truce in Donbass in connection with the beginning of the new school year.

If we analyze the latest data from the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, we can conclude that the attitude of Ukrainians to the people of the Donbass is absolutely the same – both to those who live in the Republics and to those who for various reasons (including ideological ones) moved to the territory of Ukraine.

On August 28, a solemn presentation of membership cards of public movement “Donetsk Republic” to the employees of the Yasinovka cokery plant was held in the enterprise’s auditorium.

On August 26, an exhibition fair of domestic manufacturers` products entitled “Potential of the Donetsk People’s Republic – 2017” was opened in Donetsk. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation’s deputy Andrey Kozenko.

Pyotr Poroshenko has recently made a lot of ridiculous statements, which previously could only be heard from odious bawlers, such as Lyashko or Parasyuk. The meaning of his speeches has not changed, but due to the change in rhetoric, too often in the speeches of the Ukrainian leader, logical collapses began to appear. Poroshenko particularly distinguished himself at the parade on the occasion of the day of the so-called independence of Ukraine.

On August 24, in Makeyevka, a series of festive events took place, timed to coincide with the Town Day and the Miner's Day.

The visit of the Pentagon Chief, James Mattis, to Ukraine on Independence Day is one of the demonstrative evidence of the absence of Ukrainian sovereignty.

In connection with the forthcoming beginning of the school year, the Contact Group agreed on and supported the regime of a sustainable and comprehensive ceasefire on the line of contact between the parties in Donbass starting from 00:00 hours on August 25.
