#Commentary of Sergey Rura on changing ‘ATO’ format into ‘Joint Forces Operation’
With the help of the so-called ‘Joint Forces Operation,’ Kiev intends to isolate the Donbass. The creation of ‘restricted’ or ‘restricted access’ areas for civilians is an attempt to conceal the illegal use of weapons against civilians and a number of other crimes of the Kiev punitive forces in the Donbass.
It is obvious that for the Ukrainian authorities both the existence of a different opinion and the publication of facts for the world community are unacceptable. Kiev failed to stigmatize the DPR and the LPR as the aggressor, the plan to seize the territories of the republics has also failed, so the only option is to isolate the Donbass and continue to wage a subversive war.
Reformatting the ‘antiterrorist operation’ has not yet changed the mechanism of commanding the actions of Ukrainian punishers in the Donbass, and the new format of the ‘ATO’ implies the change of leadership of the military operation in favour of the AFU. However, it is not a secret that the situation in the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces is unstable. At the moment, the soldiers of the AFU are just pawns in the hands of the Ukrainian special services headed by the SBU.
