Delegation of Republic of South Ossetia honours memory of fallen citizens of Donetsk People’s Republic
On March 5, a series of events with the participation of the official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia, which included the Chairman of the South Ossetia’s Parliament Petr Gassiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Gabatov, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations of the South Ossetia’s Parliament Igor Kochiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations of the South Ossetia’s Parliament Alexander Pliyev, took place in the capital of the Republic.
The Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Council Olga Makeyeva, Head of the “Donetsk Republic” faction Valery Skorokhodov took part in the event as well.
Vladimir Bidyovka reported on the symbolism of the delegations’ participation in today’s events in a commentary to the press service of the People’s Council.
ʺUnfortunately, both the Donetsk People’s Republic and Republic of South Ossetia faced armed aggression on their way to independence. Our states have first-hand knowledge of what war is. Today, we honoured the memory of the first Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko and citizens, who fell as a result of the crimes of the Ukrainian power. We will never forget a high price we paid for our independence. Our goal is to develop the state, build the future, which we all dream of,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.
During the visit, the delegation paid floral tributes to the place of death of the first Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko. Also, the representatives of the Republic of South Ossetia laid floral tributes to the monument “To the fallen citizens of the Donetsk People’s Republic”. At the end of the official part the delegates visited the museum “Art-Donbass”.
