Denis Pushilin assumes possible aggravation of situation in Donbass due to supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine

On May 1, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the Permanent Representative of the DPR to the peace talks in Minsk, Denis Pushilin, in an interview with the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic, commented on the planned supplies of American missile systems to Kiev.

“Unfortunately, this is not the first manifestation of aggressive actions not only on part of Ukraine, but also on part of those who agree to supply the AFU with such systems and dangerous weapons.

We can only be ready for any development of events. Be ready for the possible use of this weapon, for a possible exacerbation, which, unfortunately, cannot be ruled out, amid the change of the so-called ‘anti-terrorist operation’ to the ‘JFO,’” the plenipotentiary representative said.

Denis Pushilin stressed that, in spite of external threats, it is necessary to spend all efforts to rebuild the Republic, but at the same time to be always ready to repel any aggression.

We recall that earlier Poroshenko has told why Ukraine needed American weapons. According to him, “American weapons in the hands of Ukrainian soldiers are not for an offensive, but for effective self-defence.” This statement was made against the backdrop of the aggravated military situation on the contact line in the Donbass. In particular, only for the past day, according to the Representation of the Donetsk People’s Republic to the JCCC, the number of violations by the AFU amounted to 22 times, and the total number of ammunition fired by the AFU – 462 units. The Representation specified that the fire of Ukrainian law enforcers hit the Yasinovataya suburbs and the northern outskirts of Gorlovka. In addition, Dokuchayevsk and Novolaspa, Leninskoye and Kominternovo villages in the south of the Republic were shelled.
