Deputy Marina Zheynova comments on Petro Poroshenko’s statement on improvement of Ukrainian citizens’ lives in three years
The statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on a nice life coming to citizens in a foreseeable future does not correspond to the real state of affairs. This was reported by the Chairman of the Committee on Budget, Finance and Economic Policy, DPR People’s Council deputy Marina Zheynova to the DAN’s press service.
ʺPetro Poroshenko declared during his speech at the celebration of the Day of Unity of Ukraine that Ukrainians would live better in 1-3 years and feel the effect of reforms. This statement can be called another attempt to draw the wool over his people’s eyes. What improvement was he talking about, when another tariff increase for heating and hot water took place on January 1 this year in Ukraine. For instance, they were increased by 22% in Kiev, and 18% – in Dnepropetrovks and Kharkov,ʺ the deputy said.
Besides, according to the deputy, Petro Poroshenko presented statistics on increase in incomes of the population and labour productivity in countries, which were the last to join the European Union (Bulgaria and Romania).
ʺThe President of Ukraine probably does not know that 40.4% of the population in Bulgaria lives below the poverty line after joining the EU, Romania takes the second place having 38.8% of poor people. By the way, Greece, which entered the European Union in 1981, is the top three in the anti-leaders rating, and it is also a reason to think about what privileges a long-term membership in the “European family” gives. Perhaps, there are the improvements Ukrainians should be prepared for after the reforms and, of course, be happy about positive changes in the financial situation of the president and his crowd,ʺ Marina Zheynova summed up.
