Donetsk celebrates Police and Internal Affairs Servicemen’s Day

On November 9, the capital of the Republic hosted a solemn event dedicated to DPR Police and Internal Affairs Servicemen’s Day, which was attended by the DPR Head, Denis Pushilin, the Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Council, Olga Makeyeva, deputies, as well as representatives of relevant ministries and departments.

When doing the official part, Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin addressed the servicemen of the internal affairs bodies with a congratulatory speech.

“Servicemen of the internal affairs bodies at all times have stood for the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, providing the opportunity to live and work peacefully. And in our difficult conditions, the law enforcement service is many times more complicated and more responsible.

For each of you, this is not just a profession, but destiny! And you proved it exactly five years ago, when you stayed dutiful and honourable, when you took on your shoulders the entire burden of responsibility for the fulfilment of the powers entrusted to you.

Today, society has very high demands to you. A man in the police uniform personifies power and law, but this is not enough. They still have to personify justice. You can earn trust and keep it at a high level only with a responsible attitude to the matter, attention to everyone’s problems, and most importantly, with competent and professional work. I’m sure you will cope with this task,” Denis Pushilin noted.

In turn, Vladimir Bidyovka, during the speech, emphasized the importance of the profession of law enforcer.

“On this day, we honour you and your colleagues for daily hard work, thanks to which peace and order are maintained in our state. It is you who protect the peaceful work of our citizens, often at the risk of your own lives. Professionalism, the ability to find an individual approach to each in combination with the skills of prompt response to any illegal actions are the hallmarks of an internal affairs officer of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you and your colleagues for the daily feat that you accomplish while fulfilling your professional duty. Thanks to your work, the Donetsk People’s Republic is becoming stronger day by day, because the safety of our citizens is in good hands.
